Rise and shine. The 16u Moose took on the SB Tides early Sunday morning, and one team came to play, the other team maybe staying up a little to late the night before. It took a little while for the Moose to get going, but once they did, it was off to the races.
Drew Taylor got the start on the mound for the Moose and delivered a strong outing. He went five innings allowing three hits, no runs, and six punch outs. Taylor put himself in a great position not only for the win on Sunday but also pitcher of the week. Anthony Morro finished off the last two innings of mound work, letting up only one run. That one run didn't seem to bother the Moose Antlers.
The Moose bats started to jump in the third inning, after putting up two. In the fourth inning, though, they exploded, torching a monstrous inning of five runs. Jacob Dorman, Drew Seidman, and Brady Nichols all had two RBI's to lead the team.
The 16u Antler flashers rounded together ten runs, waking the SB Tides right up. After suffering a loss and a tie in its doubleheader on Saturday afternoon, the Moose were happy to perform well and bounce back.
The Moose face off against the CT Capitals on Wednesday at Northwest Catholic. The first pitch is at 6 pm, and all Moose fans are hoping for the return of Evan Niziolek to let the lefty whip some fastballs by the Capitals bats.
